Buses

Travelling by bus is the cheapest to get around the island. Most public buses cost about Rs10 - Rs15 (approx. $0.50) and they normally run from 6am to 6.30pm daily.

Taxis

Taxi fares in Mauritius are set by zone. By law, all taxi drivers are suposed to use a "Taxi meter" to calculate the fares, but very few drivers actually use it. So, it is strongly recommended to agree on a fare before hand.
